Cucuru Gallery Lounge, a Westside tradition with a Colorado Springs Legacy.

The Alvarado & Rivera family has resided in Colorado Springs for generations and has contributed to the city's very foundations while residing in the historic Conejos neighborhood. Baltazar Alvarado helped construct the railways and the infrastructure of this great city. Jose Alvarado founded the Fiesta Bonita Festival celebrating Mexican heritage in the community from the early 1950s to mid 1970s. He ran another Old Colorado City business called the Health Matrix for over three decades. He was considered by many to be the father of Hispanic Heritage in Colorado Springs but most people on the west side knew him as Little Joe. Corina Alvarado (Rivera) received national recognition for her culinary contributions while working at the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind. Her recipes can still be enjoyed at Cucuru today.

The Alvarados are proud to operate in the epicenter of their family’s history and only hope to keep pouring into the community through delicious food and beautiful art.
